  • DSP SAS, Groupe DuPont – Capacity increase & ergonomics and process efficiency improvement

DSP SAS is producing ionic exchange resin (IER) at Chauny site. This production is partially used in the pharmaceutical industry as API or excipient. The purpose of the project was to increase production capacity by adding a second dryer (fluid bed technology) and improving ergonomic aspects and process efficiency (loading, cleaning and transfer).

This project has been initiated in 2019 by a basic design in consolidation of a preliminary study done by DSP, as well as support to pre-selection of fluid bed dryer suppliers including drying trials support at suppliers’ manufacturing sites. Detailed design and design qualification were conducted in 2020 in parallel of fluid bed drying design and fabrication. Building extension construction started in July and was completed by the end of 2020. Process installation and commissioning was executed in Q1 2021, and process qualification (IQOQ) completed by April 2021.
