Policy brief & purpose

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) company policy refers to our responsibility towards our environment. At TTP Group we believe in growing responsibly and sustainably. Our CSR company policy defines the non-negotiables for all our employees. It codifies our values, making clear what is expected from our people. Through living our policy, we will bring our values and purpose to life, every day in everything we do. Our company’s existence is not lonely. It is part of a bigger system of people, values, other organizations and nature.

What is our Corporate Social Responsibility policy?

Our CSR company policy outlines our efforts to give back to the world as it gives to us.

Scope

This policy applies to our company TTP Holding GmbH and its subsidiaries.

Our standard of conduct

We want to be a responsible business partner that meets the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. Our company’s social responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactiveness.
Compliance refers to our company’s commitment to legality and willingness to observe community values. Proactiveness is every initiative to promote human rights, help communities and protect our natural environment.

TTP Group’s CSR efforts are coordinated by our team for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-Team) which is governed by a steering team of representatives from all TTP Group branches founded in 2020. Our CSR efforts and activities comprise supporting local communities, educating and empowering workers as well as addressing the issues of gender equality and minorities within the company. Moreover, our operative companies work to reduce energy consumption. Sustainable sourcing represents an additional CSR issue that TTP Group aims to address within the scope of its operations.

1. Compliance

1.1. Legality

Our company will:

  • Respect the law
  • Honor its internal policies
  • Ensure that all its business operations are legitimate

Employees must always comply with the applicable laws and regulations of the countries where the operative branch is located or operates. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Timely legal consultation is essential to ensure that TTP Groups’ legitimate business interests and opportunities are protected. The TTP Group Approval Policy sets out when employees must seek legal advice from TTP Groups’ Legal Team. Further, employees must seek advice where they see possible conflicts with laws e.g., export control law.

1.2. Business ethics

There is both a business and a moral case for ensuring that human rights are upheld across TTP Group’s operations. TTP Group is committed to ensuring that all employees work in an environment that promotes diversity and where there is mutual trust, respect for human rights, and equal opportunity, and no unlawful discrimination or victimization. We will always conduct business with integrity and respect to human rights. We will promote:

a) Safety, fairness and highly effective working processes

TTP Group’s reputation and success are founded upon providing safe high-quality engineering services that meet all applicable standards and regulations, both internal and external within the end-to-end value chain.

  • All employees have a role to play in ensuring that the services we provide meet and /or exceed the expectations of our customers.
  • All employees must work and behave safely. Comply with health and safety procedures and instructions relevant to their work and/or about which they have been trained or notified.
  • Support team leaders to ensure that everyone they work with, including contractors and visitors, are familiar with and follow applicable health and safety procedures and instructions.
  • Apply effective processes to measure and record process performance and, where appropriate, take effective preventative steps or corrective action to assure great quality experiences for our customers.
  • Promptly and proactively report all safety or quality concerns to their project manager.
  • All project managers have overall operational responsibility for health and safety at their location and must:
    • Establish and maintain appropriate health and safety at work management system for their sites and their teams, including the appointment of committees, managers, competent experts and a system for gathering employees’ concerns.
    • Identify health and safety hazards and manage/control risks arising from their team and their site’s routine and planned operations, activities and services.
    • Report mandatory Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) via an Internal Safety, Health, and Environment reporting system.
    • Report all incidents, accidents and near misses in line with reporting requirements, including thorough investigation, follow-up, and communication of lessons learned.

b) Respect, dignity and fair treatment

Business can only flourish in societies where human rights are respected, upheld, and advanced. TTP Group recognizes that each operative TTP Group brand has the responsibility to respect human rights and the ability to contribute to positive human rights impacts.

  • We are a committed equal opportunity employer and will abide by all fair labor practices. We will ensure that our activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights in any country.
  • We ensure that all employees are provided with fair wages including a total remuneration package that meets or exceeds legal minimum standards or appropriate prevailing industry standards, and that remuneration terms established by legally binding collective agreements are implemented and adhered to.
  • We maintain a clear and transparent system of employee and management communication that enables employees to consult and have an effective dialogue with management for example through our People Appraisal – People Dialogue.
  • We are in the process of setting up a transparent, fair, and confidential procedure for employees to raise relevant concerns. This will further employees to come forward and discuss any situation where they believe they have been discriminated against or treated unfairly or without respect or dignity. This process will be implemented before the end of 2021. Until then we provide a worry box (Kummerkasten) where anonymous concerns can be raised and alternatively our employees can raise concerns directly with our Human Resources team.

c) Anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices

TTP Group’s commitment to doing business with integrity requires consistently high global standards: our zero-tolerance approach towards bribery and corruption applies to all operations, regardless of local business practices, and prohibits both public and commercial bribery (e.g., to or from any third party).

Employees must:

  • Always make clear, internally and when dealing with third parties, that TTP Group and its operative brands have a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and will not (directly or indirectly) offer, pay, seek, or accept a payment, gift, or favor to improperly influence a business outcome.
  • Immediately notify their Supervisor or the higher Management if they become aware of any suggested or actual payment or other transaction which has the potential to be in breach of this policy.

1.3. Examples of Corporate Social Responsibility

a) Protecting the environment

  • TTP Group recognizes the need to protect the natural environment. We are committed to making continuous improvements in the management of our environmental impacts.
  • Among other things, we work with external partners to promote environmental protection throughout our value chain, improve our stakeholders’ understanding of environmental issues, and share best practices with other companies. We will readily act to promote our identity as a socially aware and responsible business. Thus, we have committed to the United Nations Global Compact.
  • We comply with applicable environmental legislation and regulations. As TTP we always try to do more. Therefore, we constantly educate our employees to be more aware of their energy consumption since we strongly believe that everyone at TTP Group has a role to play. Moreover, our operative companies work to reduce energy consumption and derive energy from alternative sources. Our CSR policy thus outlines our individual and shared responsibilities to the environment and is implemented through the environmental pillars of the TTP Group’s SDG-Team.
  • This Environmental Policy commits us to:
  • Embed environmental risks into our wider risk identification and mitigation processes.
  • Refresh our materiality assessment periodically, which includes considering current and future environmental issues.
  • Set targets for continuous improvement and put in place environmental safety and sustainability programs.

b) Innovation:

Work to identify opportunities to minimize the potential environmental impacts of TTP Group activities.

TTP Group’s Car Fleet:

Focus on continually increasing fleet efficiency and reducing emissions. We started by setting up programs for our employees to use e-bikes to commute and plan to establish more changes in our fleet over time.

2. Proactiveness

2.1. Donations and aid

Our company may preserve a budget to make monetary donations. These donations will aim to:

  • advance education;
  • support community events;
  • support NGOs.

2.2. Educating and Empowering People

  • TTP Group may initiate and support community investment and educational programs. Our subsidiaries in Switzerland and Germany collaborate with local schools, colleges and universities to assist young people in choosing their future careers, being an advocate for our industry. We further provide options for students to do a dual degree with our subsidiaries and further provide expert knowledge by having our employees giving lectures at universities.
  • We will actively invest in R&D. We will be open to suggestions and listen carefully to ideas. Our company will try to continuously improve the way it operates.

The seven tools

TTP Group is actively committed to creating an environment that makes it easier for talent to communicate, collaborate and develop within the Group and its brands. The modern leadership style provides the framework for the integration of innovative working methods, which are a key component of group-wide knowledge management. Every employee has access to the 7 tools via the Group’s internal intranet. These are self-developed methods that have been tried and tested over many years and are available to all employees across brands and countries:

  1. WePLAN: is our group-wide project planning model, a structured database of Good Engineering Practices fully integrated with our Quality Management System (QMS).
  2. WeCARE: With its Quality Management System (QMS), TTP Group has a unique control tool. The QMS was developed specifically to meet the needs of our customers.
  3. WeKNOW: is our encyclopedia for cross-brand and cross-country knowledge transfer, a platform for sharing global and local information. It is the explanatory part of our quality management system (QMS) and our project planning model WePLAN.
  4. WeTHINK: 1000 employees have many outstanding ideas, wishes and suggestions, because none of us is as smart as all of us together. Through our WeTHINK email box, any TTP Group employee can make a suggestion for improvement in any area to impact the company and our culture of innovation.
  5. WeLEARN: Knowledge transfer is one of our biggest success factors. TTP Group has launched the WeLEARN Academy. It is our group-wide internal training program that provides employees at all levels access to face-to-face and digital learning solutions. We are very proud that so many of our employees share their knowledge and offer internal training for everyone – either as classroom training or online. In addition, we offer external training in the areas of consulting, project management, and leadership.
  6. WeSHARE: Our internal collaboration platform (intranet) is the heart through which global and local information, news, expert discussions via our Communities of Interest (COI) and bundled, documented knowledge pulsate. We guarantee transparent internal as external communication.
  7. WeNet/COI: Our 17 Communities of Interest are cross-location teams of experts who regularly exchange knowledge and work on solution-oriented new approaches via the TTP Group’s internal platform. In terms of content, they cover the entire range of services and processes of the two brands, thus expanding both process expertise and knowledge of plant design and automation.
